About us
Louisiana State University, abbreviated as LSU, is a public land-grant university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was founded in 1853. The main campus of LSU sprawls across 1000 acres and operates through eight other campuses across the state. The LSU campus comprises 16 academic buildings, 15 residential halls, two sports facilities, and 9 recreational centers. LSU offers some of the best courses to study abroad, including 90 bachelor's programs and 73 master's courses in diverse fields such as business, engineering, agriculture, health sciences, etc. The university's total enrollment is 34000 students, out of whom 1600 are international. LSU is home to 450 student clubs and 21 sports teams. Moreover, LSU is deemed among R1: High Doctoral Universities and Very High Research Activity, and it is currently sponsoring around 800 research projects. Lastly, some of the notable alumni of LSU include Hubert Humphrey, Shaquille O'Neal, and Lolo Jones.
