About us

Marshall University is a public-funded research university located in Huntington, West Virginia. Established in 1837 as a private subscription school by the residents of Guyandotte and the surrounding area, Marshall became a full-fledged university in 1938. The campus of Marshall sprawls across 100 acres. It comprises nine undergraduate colleges, namely - Lewis College of Business, College of Arts and Media, College of Health Professions, Honors College, College of Engineering and Computer Sciences, College of Liberal Arts, College of Science, and University College. There also exist three graduate schools and a regional cancer research center in the university. Marshall University has a population of 12000 students who are enrolled in the 60 undergraduate programs, 56 graduate programs, and 35 graduate certificate programs. Ninety-six percent of Marshall University students receive some financial aid, making it one of the most affordable places to study abroad.
