University of Kingston is a research university with about 130 undergraduate programs and 200 graduate programs. Before its status as a university in 1992, Kingston Polytechnic was an institution founded in 1899. It has campuses located at Penrhyn Road, Kingston Hill, Kingston Park, and Roehampton Vale. Besides, the university is further divided into four faculties or schools: the Kingston School of Art, the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Computing, the Faculty of Health, Social Care, and Education. More than 18900 students are enrolled, including over 4900 international students from 140 countries. Hence, it has been listed among the best places to study abroad. International students can apply for multiple internal and external scholarships available. Students can choose from more than 90 clubs and societies and 40+ sports clubs. At KUL, there is a fully equipped gym, an aerobics class, and a dance studio. On-campus, Kingston has 5 residence halls with a total of 2,005 rooms.
