About us
UMSL was founded in 1963 as a public research university situated in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The institution is the most prominent public research university located in eastern Missouri and is also home to almost fifteen thousand students. UMSL delivers a broad curriculum of baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral programmes under colleges, including Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Nursing, Optometry, and others.
UMSL is classified among "R2: That is why it can be classified as “Doctoral Universities—High research activity" with highly ranked programs like the Master of Science in Cybersecurity, which is the No. 3 Fortune-ranked program for 2025. It has a beautiful 350-acre campus with an updated library, performing arts centre, and picturesque residence halls. Its Tritons athletic teams participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division II.
