About us
The University of New Mexico, abbreviated as UNM, is a public research university established in 1889. The main campus of UNM is located in Albuquerque and covers an area of 600 acres. In addition, there are branch campuses in Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos, and Valencia. The University of New Mexico houses 12 colleges with 94 degree and certificate programs, 71 graduate programs, and 37 doctoral degrees. It is also deemed as an R1 doctoral research university. UNM's School of Management, the School of Engineering, the School of Medicine, and the School of Law, are among the best in the country. With an international enrollment of 1500 students, which is 4.9 percent of the total, UNM becomes one of the best places to study abroad. In addition, UNM has a vast alumni network, and a few notable ones are – Brian Jay Jones, Gary King, and Melissa Millar. Lastly, 94 percent of UNM students receive financial aid, making the university one of the most affordable places to study abroad.
