About us

The University of Utah (U of U) is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. It is a public research-intensive university. Being Utah's flagship university, U of U offers more than a hundred programmes with undergraduate degrees and around 92 programmes with a graduate degree. This university has been distinguished and become renowned among 'Doctoral Universities - Very High Research Activity'. U of U was the Olympic Village, and the university also organised the prestigious opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics. The entire campus of the university sprawls over an area of 1,534 acres comprising 17 colleges and schools. The U of U has around 100 academic departments offering these programmes. The University has a total enrollment of 33,047 students, out of which 24,643 are undergraduate, and 8,404 are graduate students. Over 7% of the total student body is made up of international students who have come to study overseas. Out of the 2311 international students, around 1101 of them are pursuing undergraduate courses at the University of Utah. More than 71% of the students are offered financial aid of some kind by the university, while all the students are given the opportunity to avail the grants and aid formulated by the university. The eminent members of the alumni body of the University of Utah include Alex Smith, Ted Bunty, Karl Rove, Paris Jackson, Judy Shelton, and Shelby Steel.
