Youngstown State University, abbreviated as YSU, is a public-funded university located in Youngstown, Ohio. It was founded in 1908 and was granted full-fledged university status in 1955. YSU is the easternmost member of the University System of Ohio. The main campus of the university sprawls across 145 acres of land and has an urban setting. YSU operates out of six academic colleges and one graduate school that offer 150 undergraduate program and 50 graduate degree programs. The current enrollment of YSU is 12000 plus students, out of whom 454 are international students. Youngstown State also offers various scholarships for Indian students to study abroad. The Acceptance Rate of YSU is 37 percent, making it highly selective. Outside of class, there are around 140 student organizations on campus that offer students a more profound sense of community and a higher level of involvement on campus. Lastly, Youngstown State University is the proud Alma Mater of numerous notable alumni, including Jerry Lee, Harry AL. Alford, and Hank Allen.
