Though getting the french student VISA is not easier, but it is worth a lot. Here are the few types of French study VISA, you can go for:
- Visa de court séjour pour etudes (‘Schengen’ short-stay student visa): The VISA is only for the student coming for the short-term programs or the language courses. You can only study for up to 3 months on this VISA.
- Visa de long séjour temporaire pour etudes (temporary long-stay visa): Only for the student, having the course of 3-6 months. You can't renew the VISA after it is expired.
- Visa de long séjour etudes (long-stay visa): It is for the cases apart from that mentioned above. The VISA will last until the end of the course.
When it comes to submission of the VISA application or the collection of the submitted Passport from the embassy, only the student is allowed to do it. Also, it can be done by travel agents, but they need to be authorized by the French Embassy itself.
Cost Of Visa to Studying in France
The cost for the third category of VISA is EURO 50. The fees are the same for all the categories of degrees/ courses. The fee will be paid by the student at the nearest BNP Paribas branch. The mode of payment will be paper money, which will be in the favor of INSTITUT FRANCAIS EN INDE, having an account number: 0906506003400137. It is requested that you verify the account details before making the fee payment. In addition to this, you need to pay an additional EURO 50 as a VISA processing charge. Also, you will need to pay the fee to the VFS for processing and handling the application.
Documents Required
In the two sets of application copies, you need to have the following documents:
- An application form for a long stay of more than 90 days.
- Two passport-sized photographs of students.
- Copy of Passport.
- Print of CampusFrance ID number.
- An authorized registration letter from the concerned university/institution.
- Explanation of the study project in a cover letter and a Resume.
- Financial credibility of the student, which should show tuition fees +at least Euro 615/month. This should be for the complete course duration.
- Medical insurance with the required coverage. It should be valid in France.
- You need to attach a copy of the round-way ticket, only if the course duration is less than 6 months. If it is more than 6 months, then the only way ticket is required.
- Also, an OFII form or Office Francais de Immigration et de Integration needs to be attached.
- A document showing the proof of residence or accommodation in France. In the case of less than 3-months, you only need to show a reservation in a hotel in France.
- The Resume of the student also needs to be attached.
- Academic documents like degree, mark sheets, and certificates need to be attached.
Process To Apply
- Create an account at india.campusfrance.org
- Submit academic details, language abilities, and also upload CV and SOP in the respective sections. Upload all the documents as per asked.
- After it, you need to request an appointment at the campus France center. For this, you need to send the application number to the specific Campus France office.
- Then you need to appear for the Personal interview with Campus France officer. In the end, you will receive an Interview completion letter.
- After the ending of the academic interview, book an appointment with the French VFS.
Work Visa Permit
A total work-permit of 964 hours is available under the norms of France student VISA.
