About us
Birkbeck, University of London is a public-funded research university in Bloomsbury, London. It is a constituent college of the University of London and was founded in 1823. In addition to the main campus, the university has a satellite campus in Stratford, East London. The primary Birkbeck has an excellent infrastructure with five schools of 19 academic divisions, three residence halls, a 70-seater cinema hall, a massive library with 150 million books, and so forth. The university has a total enrollment of 11000 plus students with a study abroad intake of 38 percent international students from 66 countries. The university offers 669 graduate programs and 278 postgraduate courses in diverse disciplines such as mathematics, criminology, media, etc. The university’s reputation in innovation and research is phenomenal, with a 13th position in the Guardian’s 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.
