Located in the City of Birmingham, the BCU was initially established as Birmingham College of Arts in 1843. In 1971, it was made a polytechnic university. In 1992, it was granted university status. The University has three main campuses which provide an excellent education in Arts, Science, Business, and many other programs. The University is rated as a TEF Silver Rating University due to the deliverance of optimum quality of teaching. The University is particularly known for its courses in Arts. The campus of Arts was opened in 1843 and was the first college of Arts & Design outside London! The University is also known for its Music course, which has been running since 1886.
