About us
Cape Breton University (CBU) is a leading public university primarily serving undergraduate students in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Students can earn undergraduate and graduate degrees, complete online courses, and take pre-professional courses in Liberal Arts, Science, Business, and Health. The university has four academic departments, namely Schools of Arts & Social Sciences, Schools of Education & Health, Schools of Science & Technology, and the Shannon School of Business. Approximately 17,000 square feet of buildings comprise the campus of CBU. The building complex includes research laboratories, workshops, administrative facilities, reading rooms, and auditoriums used for campus events, forums, and competitions. A few study abroad scholarships are also available. Students at Cape Breton University can live on campus in a beautiful, comfortable, affordable, and safe environment. Moreover, campus housing consists of the MacDonald Residence, the Cabot Residence, Alumni Hall, and Harriss Hall. Notable alumni are Nolan Crouse, Jason Massie, John W. Morgan, and Gerald Sampson.
