About us
Liverpool John Moores University, also deemed LJMU, is a public-funded research university in Liverpool, England. It was founded in 1823 as the Liverpool Mechanics’ School of Arts and became a full-fledged university in 1922. The university has three campuses: the Mount Pleasant Campus, the City Campus, and the IM Marsh Campus. They encapsulate 44 buildings, five academic faculties, two extensive libraries, multiple residence halls, theatre halls, science parks, and other recreational infrastructures. The university offers international students the best courses to study abroad, including 212 undergraduate programs and 120 graduate courses in diverse fields like science, engineering, and business. The total enrollment of LJMU is 25000 students, out of whom 1117 are international students. The university is home to multiple student societies and 16 BUCS-registered sports teams. As per Research Assessment Exercise, LJMU has excellent research strength in general engineering and sports-related sciences.
