About us

Active in the education field since 1870, Otago Polytechnic is a well-known public tertiary education institution offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, research, certificate, and diploma level global education programs in partnership with Kai Tahu Institute, accredited by New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Possessing three fully-equipped and sophisticated campuses, with the main campus based in Dunedin and the other two are located in Cromwell and Auckland, with the Auckland campus housing the international students. The institute educates over 7000 students including approximately 1000 international students offering them 100+ career-oriented specializations in streams like architecture, natural sciences, engineering, arts, language, computing and information technology, business and management, and many more. The institute also provides students with many student exchange programs, industrial visits, courses with internships, study abroad programs with work placements, and various merit-based scholarships for international students, thereby enriching students’ global education experience and opening up numerous international career prospects. Recognised for its international organisational and performance excellence, the institute possesses a list of notable alumni base including world-renowned personalities like Hayden Chapmen (Analyst at All Blacks), Glen Riley (Environmental instructor), Holly Robinson (Silver Medallist – Paralympics 2016), and Manassah Kutia (Otago Rugby League representative)
