The roots of Oxford Brookes University lie in the era of the 19th century. Initially serving as Polytechnic college, the institute got its university status in the year 1992, through a Royal Charter. By marking its presence in the top 50 under 50 years older university, Oxford Brookes is the single entrant from the United Kingdom. As per the QS ranking, the university ranks at 376th rank. For at least 13 subjects, the university has got an elite ranking in the QS Subject Ranking. Currently, the university is ranked 1st in the United Kingdom for research and 2nd in teaching, as per the TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION Rankings.
