Saint Louis University (SLU) is a Jesuit research university based in Missouri. This university was founded in 1818 and is one of the oldest and most distinguished Catholic institutions in the country. It is one of 27 institutions that are members of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The university is directly accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. A total of 91 undergraduate degrees, 80 graduate degrees, and 25 completely online programs are available at SLU. There were 12,883 students enrolled at SLU in the 2021-2022 academic year. There were 8,138 undergraduate students and 4,745 graduate students representing 82 countries and all 50 states. On the St Louis University campus, there are more than 150 student organizations that host interactive events throughout the year. As a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, SLU's athletic teams compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. A few popular alumni of the university are Bill Clay- Politician, Gene Kranz- NASA flight director and James Gunn- Film director.
