Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, abbreviated as TAMU-CC, is a public-funded research university located in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was established in 1947 as the University of Corpus Christi – a private institution operated by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. It joined the Texas A&M University System in 1989. The campus of the university sprawls across 396 acres. It comprises seven academic colleges, namely – Business, Graduate Studies, Education and Human Development, University College, Nursing and Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Science and Engineering. The university extends 43 bachelor’s degrees, 30 master’s degrees, and nine doctoral degrees in diverse disciplines. The current enrollment of TAMU-CC is 12000 students. Seventy-one percent of its students receive financial aid, and numerous international scholarships for Indian students are also available. The university is the proud Alma Mater of countless notable alumni, including Kim Henkel, Cassandra Jean, Raul Torres.
