The University of Aberdeen, also deemed Aberd, is a public research university in Aberdeen, Scotland. It was established in 1495 and is the fifth-oldest university in the English-speaking world. Aberdeen University has five campuses across the UK, with its main campuses at Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill specializing in arts, sciences, and medicine. The university's main campus sprawls across 35 hectares and encompasses an eight-storied library, the Elphinstone Hall, a massive residence hall, high-tech classrooms, and likewise. The University of Aberdeen is divided into twelve academic schools that provide 370 bachelor's programs and 150 master's courses in diverse fields like engineering, health, geosciences, law, etc. The university's total enrollment is 15000 plus students and has a study abroad intake of 26.3 percent international students from 130 countries. According to the Research Excellence Framework, more than 75 percent of the university's research was classified as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'. The university is home to multiple student societies and fifty sports teams.
