With its foundation being laid in 1839, the University of Chester is one of the oldest institutions in the United Kingdom. The university has near about 18000 students enrolled belonging from more than 120 countries. With its campuses at about 10 locations, the university offers more than 100 UG & more than 70 PG courses. The university is a public institution, therefore, it is funded by the government. To monitor the quality of education, a number of government agencies are auditing the university. Their commitment to high standards of education has been praised by the Quality Assurance Agency and OFSTED. The University of Chester is also a silver rating university being awarded by the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Agency. When it comes to student experience & welfare, the university was ranked in the top 10 by Times Higher Education Student Survey in 2017.
