The University of Illinois at Chicago, abbreviated as UIC, is a public research university in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in 1859 and is the largest university in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. The main campus of UIC sprawls across 244 acres and comprises 16 colleges, seven residence halls, a gym, a Starbucks outlet, a medical center, and other recreational infrastructures.
