About us

Located in the city of Newcastle, having a vibrant community of more than 26400 UG and PG students, the University of Newcastle is a classic example of the synergy of cultural diversity and innovation. The university’s foundation dates back to the years 1834 & 1871. In 1834, the school of medicine came into operation, whereas in 1871, Armstrong college came into existence. After the merger of both the institution in 1937 and renaming did in 1963, the merger got the Royal Charte and was made a university.
