About us

Founded in the year 1801, USC or the University of South Carolina, is a public research-intensive university in Columbia.USC has a mesmerising main campus sprawling up to 359 acres in downtown Columbia. It also has around seven satellite campuses associated with it. The University of South Carolina facilitates research around several domains, especially around energy, environment, and sustainability, advanced materials and health sciences. Currently, USC has around 52,633 students from all the fifty states of the US and over 100 countries of the world. Out of this, 2,942 students are international students studying overseas. Out of the total number of students, 25,237 are undergraduates and 8,487 postgraduates. The campuses of the university are divided into three categories of a Research institution for research-intensive programmes, a comprehensive institution for offline campus training, and Palmetto College Campus for online study abroad. The college offers more than 88% of the students with the financial aid of some kind or the other. Meanwhile, all the other students are given grants or scholarships of some kind. The university has a comprehensive list of eminent members making up their alumni, which includes noteworthy people like Larry Kellner, Richard Riley, Joe Wilson, Henry McMaster, John B. Floyd, Alex Molinaroli, and Amanda Baker.
