Previously known as the University of Paisley, the University of the West of Scotland is a public university. It was established in 1897 but received its university status in 1992. Five campuses are spread across West Scotland, including Paisley, Lanarkshire, Central London, Dumfries, and Ayr. Besides research programs, it offers the best courses to study abroad like undergraduate, postgraduate, and post-experience courses on business, computing, creative industries, education, engineering, health, life sciences, physical and chemical sciences, and social sciences. According to the last assessment, accounting and finance research at this university is world-class, earning the highest ranking of all subjects. UWS is home to a wide range of clubs and societies.
