After the University Grants Commission permitted the University of York in 1960, it was finally established in 1963. It is a leading collegiate research university located in York, England, and covers nearly 500 acres (200 hectares). The university is home to nine colleges, over 30 research centers, and academic departments. A variety of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs are offered in archaeology, science, computer science, law, management, medicine, mathematics, languages, arts, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. The university has over 18,000 students from 140+ countries. Hence, it’s one of the best places to study abroad. Facilities including grocery stores, stationery stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs, salons, and banks are available. In addition to sports centers and fitness stations, it also provides libraries, university computer rooms, study spaces, barbecues, 24/7 launderette, social spaces like common rooms and dining halls.
