About us
Missouri State University, formerly known as Fourth District Normal School, was established in 1905. This public institution is located 109 miles away from Missouri. Its name was changed to Southwest Missouri State College in 1945 after its expansion. The two campuses of the university are the Springfield and the West Plains campus. Notable alumni of the university include John Goodman, Kathleen Turner, and several others. The university has several research stations as well as provisions for scholarships for local as well as international students. The university currently has over 26,001 students. Eight residence halls and two apartments are provided for people studying abroad who look for on-campus housing. These accommodations are equipped with all the required facilities, including cable TV, wifi, kitchen, lounge, microwave, etc.
